Give your Junior an edge by introducing Platform Tennis (Paddle) now!
The application above is the third of three five-week sessions for the Jr. paddle program at Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club. Exposing your junior to Platform Tennis (Paddle) is truly a unique opportunity. Here at URTC, we pride ourselves as being one of only 65 Platform Tennis facilities in the state, as compared to over 300 tennis facilities and park courts.
Most paddle players start playing as adults — imagine if you introduce your junior to paddle now! If your junior has prior tennis experience, he/she will be able to transfer these skills to the paddle court. It’s a great way to continue with certain skills learned through summer tennis while adding exciting new elements and developing a more diverse skill set. But players can also start from scratch with no prior racket experience. Either way, paddle is a growing sport that most kids won’t get the opportunity to learn and play. Plus it’s a fantastic way to remain active outdoors during the fall and winter months.
The experience that Kevin Schmitt has as a teaching professional and player is effective for all levels of play, from beginners to the advanced player. As URTC’s Head Tennis & Platform Professional, he nurtures the juniors, making their on-court experience fun, and exciting while adding strength and confidence to their game. All instruction follows USPTA guidelines. At URTC, your junior will receive individualized instruction as he/she learns the strokes, strategies and positioning that have made Kevin a top teaching pro and advanced player.
