URTC COVID-19 SOCIAL DISTANCING AND SAFETY RULES (PHASE TWO)

Updated 6/24/20

Please review the following URTC COVID-19 safety rules, which follow state and federal orders and public health guidance along with input from USTA. All members and their guests are expected to follow these safety rules when visiting the club. These rules are designed to protect the health of the URTC community, while allowing members to enjoy the health and social benefits of playing tennis and paddle.

General Safety Rules

  • Members and their guests should not come to the club if they have any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with anyone known to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

  • Please wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer prior to coming to the club.

  • Maintain a minimum 6-foot distance from non-household individuals at all times.

  • To ensure social distancing is maintained, please follow the one-way walking path around the grounds.

  • Please wear a mask or face covering while at the club. During play, face covering is recommended, but not required.

  • Avoid touching your face.

  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or cover face with a tissue.

  • Members and their guests who choose to use the facility do so at their own risk.

Facilities Access

  • Restrooms in clubhouse are open. Face coverings are required to enter. No more than 2 people allowed in lower level restrooms at one time to maintain social distancing. Restrooms will be sanitized routinely.

    • Face coverings are required when entering and exiting patio and recommended while sitting in groups at tables.

Tennis Rules

  • Reservations are required for tennis play. Do not come to club without a court time reserved.

  • Arrange to play with family or household members or with members who are considered to be low risk.

  • Consider playing singles only. If choosing doubles, maintain a distance of 6 feet from your partner and avoid all incidental contact.

  • Avoid touching gates and fences. Try to use elbow or racquet, if needed.

  • Courts will be swept by maintenance staff midday. Members have the option of sweeping courts prior to play. Please bring hand sanitizer to use before sweeping.

  • Do not share any equipment.

  • Avoid using hands to pick up balls (use racquet or foot). Consider using two cans of balls with different numbers or marking your own balls. Only serve and pick up your set of balls.

  • USTA safe play guidelines should be followed (read here).

  • Private or semi-private lessons can be reserved with pros. Online payment must be made in advance.

Paddle Rules

  • Paddle courts 2, 3, 4 and 5 are open for families or household members only.

  • Avoid touching doors to access courts. Try to use elbow or paddle, if possible.
